Jody Sasaki
Jody Sasaki resides in Oxnard, Calif. and operates Sasaki's Kenpo Karate in Oxnard. Jody is an eight-time N.B.L. International Champion. In 1990, 1991, and 1992 he won consecutive titles in self-defense and Kenpo forms. In 2000 and 2001 he returned to competition and captured both Self-defense NBL world titles in Savannah, Georgia and in Hollywood, Calif. He is also a four-time Ed Parker International Karate Championship winner, winning both the forms and self-defense in Long Beach, California in 1992, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the United States.
Jody returned to competition again in 2004 & 2005. He traveled to Orlando, Florida, home of the U.S. Open Karate Championships shown on ESPN 2 and won back to back world titles in self-defense. Jody has also appeared in various motion pictures including, "The Power Within" , "Bloodfist V", "Magic Boy II", "The Master", "Ninja Boy", and "Red Sun Rising". Television credits include, "The Power Rangers" and "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr". He was also the personal fight choreographer to the star of Breakaway, Teri Thompson. This movie introduced the famed ice skater Tonya Harding to the big movie screen. ( Look for Teri doing some simple Kenpo techniques) In 1993 he hosted and starred in a series of American Kenpo instructional videos marketed worldwide in Black Belt Magazine. Jody actively teaches groups, privates, seminars and also hosts other martial artists for seminars and is a certified personal trainer under the International Sports Science Association. A former member of Art Camachos Stunt-fighting team, he has a goal of putting the art of Kenpo on the big screen with explosive technical action that has never been seen before. He has trained several Champions competing in the N.B.L. & U.S. Open and is also promoter of the Duel in the Desert International Karate Championships a National N.B.L. event held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
